About The Baughman Law Centers

At The Baughman Law Centers, our story is steeped in a rich history of legal excellence and dedication to justice. With roots deeply planted in both Illinois and Iowa, our founding attorney, Kenneth E. Baughman, has served as an example of legal acumen since his admission to the bar in 1965.

A Legacy of Legal Excellence

Kenneth E. Baughman was born in Manson, Iowa, on November 18, 1939, and his legal career began when he was admitted to the bar in 1965. Over his 35 years of active practice, he provided legal counsel to more than 20,000 clients and managed 4,000 cases in court. Mr. Baughman’s fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, was just one of the communities where he honed his legal skills and began making a mark.

His legal journey has seen him handle over 300 trials and appeals, both civil and criminal. Additionally, his in-depth knowledge of medical and legal malpractice, along with his work in personal injury, negligence, and civil procedure, has been instrumental in shaping the success of The Baughman Law Centers.

Baughman’s dedication extended beyond the courtroom, as he contributed to continuing legal education programs and authored insightful legal articles, including “Disorderly Conduct vs. the First Amendment.”

Deep Roots in the Legal Community

Baughman’s education from Iowa State University and the University of Illinois provided the foundation for a career that included roles as Assistant State’s Attorney in several Illinois counties, Monticello City Attorney, and a member of numerous prestigious legal associations.

Throughout his career, Kenneth E. Baughman has been a part of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, further solidifying his reputation as a respected figure in the legal community.
